INSURANCE
There are thousands
of vision plans available to patients
by their employers. Remember – your
medical
coverage may be separate or different
from your vision
coverage. We accept assignment on Vision
Service Plan and Medicare. If you have
a different vision plan, you will be required
to pay for services rendered and be reimbursed
by your insurance. We are happy to fill
out any require forms and provide the
proper receipts for these other insurance
plans.
“How
do I know if I’m covered by the
insurance you accept?” Please
log on to www.vsp.com,
click on the “Members and Consumers”
icon and you will be able to see if you
are covered by our accepted insurance
plan. **IMPORTANT** If your company has
recently started this insurance plan,
please contact your human resource or
insurance department to make sure they
have submitted the proper paperwork and
you are in the VSP system.
We also accept Medicare on assignment.
If you do not have any medical eye conditions,
such as the start of cataracts or glaucoma,
Medicare will NOT cover your eye exam.
Frame and lenses are only covered after
cataract surgery.
“What
do I have to do if I AM on the accepted
plan?” When you call our
office for an appointment, tell the receptionist
that you are on Vision Service Plan or
Medicare and our staff will handle the
rest. Please have the member’s social
security number available. Vision Service
Plan patients: We are able to obtain all
the required paperwork over the Internet
before your appointment. This information
will include the coverage for your eye
exam, frame, lenses, and/or contact lenses,
and any required deductibles.
“What
if I do NOT have your accepted insurance?”
Please check with your human resource
or insurance department and inquire on
reimbursement procedures. Our staff will
be happy to provide any documentation
you may need.
